For the last two years, Jupiter and Saturn have been together and as the two most powerful planets in the solar system, this brought their combined resources together but in a way that allowed neither to completely shine. It was only in the closing days of December that this changed and moving into 2022 these giants of the solar system are taking a divide and conquer approach to life, with huge benefits for you. While Jupiter left a fun, playful, romantic and creatively charged part of your chart on 29th December, Saturn is here until 2023, with the resolve and determination to do whatever it takes for as long as it takes to make this an important aspect of your life. And just as well, because Jupiter begins the year alongside Neptune and for the first time in our lifetime, that means starting the year with the planets of luck and dreams in your work sector. Neptune has been helping to build the dream since his return in 2012 but it was Jupiter, the planet of luck and expansion’s return in the final days of 2021 that finally allows you to turn those dreams into reality. This makes 2022 a busy but expansive year for job growth and opportunity. With the Sun not returning until later next month there is time to get your bearings, though the South Node’s return to your income sector on 19th January suggests this will also be a lucrative year. Meanwhile, while Mercury will join Saturn in a playful part of your chart on 2nd January and the Sun on 20th January, they will both start the month in your home and family sector where there is always a lot of focus at this time of year. Venus is not only here all month but in retrograde motion until 29th January, is holding the doors open to the past and second chances. With Mars returning on 25th January and Mercury retrograding back in on 26th January, the focus on home and family matters will only deepen.
Jupiter’s departure from your romantic sector on 29th December means that the planet of luck and expansion won’t spend a moment of 2022 here yet his influence and the impact he made last year will define your romantic expectations from the start. Jupiter was always going to leave you with a sense of what’s possible but this is often the point when you are left to your own devices and the romantic confidence and high expectations he leaves you with can start to wane. That won’t be the case this time and for two equally important reasons. The first reason is Saturn, who returned with Jupiter in December 2022 but won’t leave until next year. Jupiter left you with a sense of what’s possible and now Saturn is giving you the resolve to keep doing whatever it takes for as long as it takes. The second reason why Jupiter’s influence and high expectations are unlikely to wane is that backup is on the way. It begins with Mercury’s return to your romantic sector on 2nd January, with the planet of communication returning to support Saturn, giving your heart a voice and putting heart and mind on the same page. This is something that will be especially important when the Moon makes its first visit to your romantic sector for the year from 8th January to 11th January. It is just a few days later that Mercury will turn retrograde on 15th January, something that will see him retrograde back out on 26th January. Mercury will be in retrograde motion when the Sun returns on 20th January, something that will always turn the solar spotlight onto matters of the heart at this time of year. The Sun will still be here when Mercury returns next month, beginning a double dip visit that will still be in play when Venus and Mars eventually return in early March. From Mercury’s return on 2nd January to Venus and Mars’ departure in April, there will be an unbroken chain of support for Saturn, matters of the heart and all things romantic.
To begin with, it is business as usual on both sides of the financial fence or at least a continuation of last month and with no expectation of any radical or dramatic shifts. Yet that is exactly what will happen less than three weeks into the year. What business as usual looks like is that after Mars left your income sector last month there is no more planetary activity on the income side of the financial fence, with the money gods having shifted all their focus back onto money matters. Not only that, with Uranus in retrograde motion in your financial sector and the dwarf planet Ceres having retrograded back in last month, all the focus is on the past. That begins to change with Ceres’ direct turn on 11th January, though her focus is less on the money and more on understanding your needs and priorities, which will soon prove to be a huge advantage. The Moon will make its first visit to your financial sector for the year from 11th January to 13th January, fuelling your financial instincts and imagination but with Ceres in direct but Uranus still in retrograde motion, in a way that brings the past, present and future into perspective. It is just five days later that two events within the space of less than three hours will forever change the dynamics of this financial year. It happens on 19th January and begins with Uranus’ direct turn in your financial sector. This is something that will finally take the focus off the rear view mirror while also giving money matters the green light. It is less than three hours later that the lunar nodes will return to your two money houses, the North Node to your financial sector and the South Node to your income sector. As well as policing a balance between money coming in and money going out over the next 18 months and determining where the eclipses of 2022 will fall, this will energise both sides of the financial fence while bringing income potential back into the game. There will be a chance to get a better read on the latter when the Moon makes its first visit to your income sector for the year from 25th January to 27th January.
